Random Retro Goodness

I buy a lot of retro things, and not all of it is directly related to my retro gaming or computing hobby, some of it I buy just for the pure nostalgic feel of it. If it’s cool, and I think someone might benefit from my take on it, you’ll find it listed here!

A good example would be this set of NES themed drink coasters I picked up on Amazon. They were cheap, looked neat, and even though there are a couple glaring problems with them, I got them anyway to use on my desk simply because I liked them.

Those glaring problems would be the fact their made of pressed cardboard, so getting them wet will destroy them, not exactly a good material to make a drink coaster out of. The other is the fact whoever made these used the box art instead of the cartridge art, so some of the images are cutoff. I really don’t mind the fact they used the wrong art, I knew that before I bought them, and you can just spray them with a bit of clear-coat to keep them from getting destroyed when they get wet. The nostalgia nerd inside me still wanted them for my desk, so here they sit.
